The hundreds of photos published on this site have been supplied by management & staff who have worked at Wrest Point Casino from opening night in February 1973. It is a photographic journey from just before opening and right up to the present day. Thanks go to current & ex staff and management who have taken the time to scan the photographs, supply the names and dates, and to share their photo albums from thirty seven years ago and up to the present day. Thanks to Chrissie Mannix, Chrissie Henderson, Elly Bolt, Betty Pearce, Lou Jager, Geoff Young & Honey Bacon for sharing & recording their extraordinary collection of photos taken from 1973 and to Lyn Bluett and the management of Wrest Point who have managed to track photos from every corner of the building. If you happen to see yourself or someone you know in one of the photos let us or them know – and if you have any photos to share we look forward to seeing them. With the impending 40th anniversary looming in less than three years time we are trying to track down as many ex staff as we can – so please help spread the word.
There is a huge 40th anniversary reunion planned for February, 2013. Maybe you are trying to contact someone you worked with all those years ago or want to know more about the 40th anniversary plans for 2013.
A get-together lunch is also organised in Hobart every year. This year the get-together lunch is on 7 December 2011. All past staff & management are welcome and you can register your interest by clicking here.
